OVATION OVERVIEW TRAINING. I&C Training Programs

OVATION OVERVIEW TRAINING. I&C Training Programs

About this course

This course is intended for system engineers, maintenance technicians, and operators who will be participating in the design reviews and pre-installation testing of an OvationTM system. No previous experience with the OvationTM System is necessary, although some background in computer technology and control systems may be helpful.

The training program is offered using a combination of student-centered classroom presentations and hands-on learning, using a Westinghouse-supplied OvationTM training system.

Although Westinghouse does not grant an Ovation(TM) qualification to utility personnel for this training, many utilities, at their discretion, use successful completion of this course to grant a qualification.

Course Schedule:

  • Day 1: OvationTM overview – OvationTM architecture (workstations, communications, controllers, and I/O Modules – OvationTM database and record types – Operator applications – Operator lab.
  • Day 2:  Introduction to Control Builder and control sheets – Introduction to Graphics Builder and the use of graphics in an OvationTM system – Ovation(TM) redundant controllers, I/O modules, and supporting hardware – The Westinghouse Ovation(TM) Overview Training Course provides each student with a challenging and effective way to develop his or her understanding of the Ovation(TM) system.

By the end of the course, the successful student will be prepared to perform basic design reviews, software in-loop tests, and factory acceptance tests of the Ovation(TM) system.
